“Help the Homeless Limerick would like to thank MCKS Charity Ireland for their very generous donation of €3000 which went to Annacotty Farm Shop on our behalf where we get a lot of meats to supply dinners for the street run so not only the homeless have you helped but also a local business. Very much appreciated. At HTHL we are in one place by the milk market 3 evenings a week but supply the homeless hostels most nights with warm home cooked dinners , clean clothes and new socks and underwear. Coming back to 7 evenings from September where we will also supply sleeping bags, tents and toiletries. ”

“The Northstar Family Support Project was very grateful to receive financial support from  MCKS Charity Ireland through their charity donation  platform. The donation allowed the Northstar to purchase laptops and tablets that could be shared with our participants during Covid. Feedback from the participants that received these electronics said that they allowed them to stay connected to the outside world at a time when they felt at their loneliest. MCKS Charity Ireland is so easy to work with and really care about doing good in our communities. ”

“The donation from MCKS Charity Ireland has helped West Wicklow Youth Project to provide food for our young people during each of their groups. We were able to provide substantial and healthy food for the young people. The donation also allowed for us to provide the means to have cooking within the groups providing new opportunities and skills for our young people.”

“The feedback from the young people was that they identified that the weekends they found they would struggle with their mental health being in an unstable environment. Our overall aim was to provide a 6-week block programme to address the needs of the young people. During these 6 weeks we had to do a personal development course with our young people, from this course we saw a huge difference in the young people’s personal self-development, for example stress management self-care and being more confident in themselves.

Our Saturday programme we also offer meals and outings to the young people. This gives the young person confidence to engage with other people and engage in social activity as some young people would not get the opportunity to go bowling, movies, zoo etc as they would be quite isolated and present themselves from a disadvantaged family. 90% of the young people would be coming from families that are affected by addition and in care. 

One of the programmes that we do provide is self-worth, identifying grooming to young people and providing them with a safe place to talk regarding high risk activities over the weekend."

“Bray Area Rough Sleepers Support (BARSS) have been supported by MCKS for a number of years and their support has proved invaluable.  We are a voluntary food run who operate 365 nights of the year and rely completely on donations, the support from MCKS has ensured that we have enough of the general food items we provide each night, as well as sleeping bags and tents to supply our service users when required.”
